Image processing cameras and components for flexible industrial applications

LUCID Vision Labs GmbH from Ilsfeld is presenting various camera technologies, including the »Triton2 EVS Event-Based Camera« and the new »Phoenix GigE Vision Camera Modules«.

The event-based »Triton2 EVS Event-Based 2.5GigE Camera« is equipped with the IMX636/637 image sensors from Sony and the Metavision® Intelligence Suite from PROPHESEE. The system can be used flexibly for a wide range of image processing applications such as motion analysis or vibration monitoring.

The »Phoenix GigE PoE camera modules« have a compact design with dimensions of 24 mm x 24 mm and 28 mm x 28 mm and have been specially developed for OEM integration. Thanks to the modular design with various lens mounts, housing orientations and Ethernet interfaces, the modules can be adapted for a wide variety of tasks.

The event-based »Triton2 EVS Event-Based 2.5GigE Camera« uses the IMX636/637 image sensors from Sony in combination with the Metavision® Intelligence Suite from PROPHESEE. Depending on the system variant, the system offers a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Event-based vision opens up new industrial applications, as innovative sensor technology generally reduces the amount of image processing required, resulting in increased system performance and lower power consumption. This is because »event-based vision sensors (EVS)« only send data from pixels where a change in intensity has been detected. This minimizes the amount of data and the processor resources required to analyse the image. Event-based vision systems produce up to 1000 times less data than a conventional sensor while achieving a higher equivalent temporal resolution of >10000 fps.

The technology can be used in a variety of industrial applications such as motion analysis, vibration monitoring, object tracking, autonomous driving or high-speed detection.

Modular design enables a wide range of applications

The compact »Phoenix GigE PoE camera modules« can be flexibly adapted to a wide variety of tasks. The system transmits synchronized images from its two 5.0 MP Sony IMX264 global shutter sensors, each with a resolution of 2448 x 2048 pixels, making it suitable for a wide range of applications that require a wider field of view (FoV). Thanks to the modular design with various lens mounts, housing orientations and Ethernet interfaces, the modules can be adapted for a wide variety of tasks. The technologies are suitable e. g. for Stereo-Vision-Systems, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
